You'll arrive, settle in, and meet other singles through a series of short conversations. Our hosts guide the flow so it feels natural and relaxed. At the end, you note who you'd like to connect with, and we handle the rest.
After the event, we check for mutual interest. If both people expressed interest in each other, we notify you within 24 hours via email and text with contact information. No one gets notified unless the interest is mutual.
Not at all. This is about connection, not pressure. Some people meet their person. Others make new friends. Some just enjoy the experience. All of it counts as a win.
Real Roanoke singles who are tired of dating apps and want genuine connection. Each event is thoughtfully curated by age, life stage, or community so you're meeting people who share similar values and life circumstances.
Introductory pricing is $30 for the first 100 daters who sign up. Regular event pricing is $35. That includes the full two-hour structured experience, ice breakers, and the matching service.

What to expect at your event
Arrive early to get checked in! Check-in starts fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled time. The event begins promptly fifteen minutes after the set time. Please be on time, you may not be able to participate once the event has begun and no refunds will be issued.
You will be greeted by our host(s) who will be there to guide you through the evening & answer any questions.
You will receive a clipboard with a name tag, Match Card (to keep track of the people you will meet) and ice-breaker conversation starters (in case you need a little help).
Half of the participants will remain seated throughout the evening and the other half will rotate from table to table after each round.
- A timer will begin and you will have 6 minute long conversations with each participant. We encourage you to take notes on your Match Card during your date to help you remember each person (e.g. loves dogs, elementary school teacher).
- A bell will signify the end of the 6 minute “date”.
- You will have a brief moment between rounds to privately mark “Yes” or “No” on your Match Cards for each person you spoke with, indicating who you would like to see again.
- You can expect anywhere from 5-10 conversations at each event.
- You will submit your Match Card to your host at the end of the event. We recommend you take a picture of your Match Card before you turn it in to your host.
- If 2 people mutually check “Yes” for each other-it’s a match! Your host will send you your matches' contact information via text within 24 hours so that you can set up a real date! Both participants will receive each others contact information.
Event Details
Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available to be purchased at the venue before and during the event. Food will be available for purchase (venue permitting) if you are looking to dine-in after the event.
First impressions really do mean a lot. Dress like this is a first date because….it is! Be comfortable, but think a bit more elevated. Men: khakis, nicer jeans, button down shirts. Ladies: cute tops, pants, skirts, dresses.
We want participants to be comfortable with the age group they're "dating." A couple (2-3) years over or under is fine, but please choose a Star City Singles event that generally fits your age range.
This one is easy! You have a 6 minute conversation, learn some fun facts about this stranger who, like you was brave enough to come out and try something new! Discreetly mark “No” on your Match Card and move on to the next participant at the next round.
If 2 people mutually check “Yes” for each other-it’s a match! Your host will send you your matches' contact information via text within 24 hours so that you can set up a real date! Both participants will receive each others contact information. Every participant is texted after the event even if they did not match.
